Thermocouples can be quickly connected to and detached from the extension wire using special thermocouple connectors. A male plug and a female jack make up the connector pair. For single thermocouples, the male plug will have two pins; for dual thermocouples, it will have four pins. Three pins will be included on RTD temperature sensors. To ensure precision across the thermocouple circuit, thermocouple alloys are used in the manufacturing of thermocouple plugs and jacks.
To fit your application, thermocouple plugs and jacks can be purchased in a choice of body materials and temperature ratings. High temperature applications up to 650°C can also use High Purity Alumina Ceramic Thermocouple Connectors. Type E, J, K, N, T, R, S, and B thermocouple calibrations are available for all thermocouple connectors.
